History & Growth of First Baptist Church of St. Charles

First Baptist Church of St. Charles is a fellowship of believers desiring to show Christ in their life and actions.  We believe the Bible as the complete Word of God inerrant in its truth and revelation.

Our vision is to reach a lost world for Jesus Christ by allowing His Holy Spirit to work in and through our lives.  Our mission is “Hearing, Learning, and Doing” the Word of God.  Faith comes by hearing the Word, learning comes by being active in the Word of God and participating in fellowship with the believers, and doing what is commanded by our Savior.

Our church is located in St. Charles neighborhood in the town of Waldorf, Maryland.  Our church’s mission began in 1968.  We are a Southern Baptist Church.  We cooperatively participate with the Potomac Baptist Association, the Maryland/Delaware Baptist Convention, and the Southern Baptist Convention.
Our pastor is Fred Caudle and has been the pastor since 2002.

We welcome those in our community and surrounding neighborhoods to visit and fellowship with our congregation.  Our attendance for services ranges about 220 persons.  Our morning worship is at 10:30 am and an evening worship service at 6:00 pm.  We have Sunday school for all ages at 9:00 am. Our Wednesday night fellowship begins with a dinner at 5:45 pm and followed by training at 7:00 pm. Our Wednesday night classes offer marriage enrichment and growing believer’s class.  We have many more opportunities throughout the week for children, youth and adults of all ages.

Our membership is made up of those who have professed the name of Jesus as Lord and as Savior and have yielded to the believer’s baptism by immersion.  We believe our salvation is by grace alone in the name of Jesus and do not hold membership or baptism as a means of salvation.  On the first Sunday of each month we remember our Lord’s sacrifice by observing the Last Supper commonly known as communion.  Those who believe in the name of Jesus, have been baptized by immersion voluntarily, and look for His return are welcome to participate in the Lord’s Supper.

Please look through all of our ministries listed on this site and should you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to call the office or email us.  May God bless you and keep you in our Lord Jesus Christ by His precious and Holy Spirit.
